WHAT TO EXPECT?

At North Bay, we believe that a church family is just that – a family. When you visit North Bay, we believe you will be warmly greeted and received as family. We understand that visiting a new church for the first time can be intimidating, but we think North Bay offers a laid back and loving environment that will help put you at ease and make you feel at home.

In our Bible class hour at 9 a.m. we have classes for children in our Children’s Building and an adult class in our main auditorium. Members will be happy to show you around, help get your children where they need to be and introduce you to their teacher.

Our worship service at 10 a.m. includes uplifting a cappella praise and worship music, weekly taking of communion, prayers and a Christ-centered lesson designed to teach a message or principle from God’s Word in a way that connects in relevant ways to the struggles and issues people face today. We hope and believe you will find our singing to be encouraging and energetic, and our prayer is that our lessons strengthen your understanding of Scripture and how it applies to our lives in today’s world.

We also have Children’s Church during our worship service. Before the sermon children ages 3 through 3rd grade are invited to a time of worship and teaching on their level. Many of our families help lead this time and make it fun and faith-forming for our children.

WHAT WILL BE EXPECTED OF ME?

You are welcomed and encouraged to participate at a level that makes sense for you. If you want to sing along in worship that’s great! The words and music will be projected on the screen at the front of the auditorium. If you are new to worship and want to simply take it all in, that’s great as well!

We take an offering every Sunday after our communion time. The money from the offering goes to the efforts, ministries and administration of the North Bay church as well as mission and evangelism efforts across the globe. Visitors are not expected to contribute, although you are certainly welcome to if you have a desire.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

We think you will find a relaxed and casual environment at North Bay. That includes the way people interact with one another and the way we dress. You will see some people “dressed up” in shirts and ties or dresses, but you will also see people in jeans, t-shirts and other casual attire – and everything in between. So feel free to dress up or dress down to your preference – we care a lot more about your presence than your appearance!

HOW LONG ARE THE GATHERINGS?

Our Sunday morning Bible classes run from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., followed by our worship service at 10 a.m. While the ending time for our worship service varies slightly dependent on what all is taking place that morning, we usually dismiss around 11:10 a.m.

Our Sunday evening gatherings usually run from 6 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday nights from 7 to 8 p.m.

WHAT DO YOU TEACH?

First and foremost, we take our cue from Paul and teach Jesus Christ and him crucified. (1 Corinthians 2:2-5) We believe that the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ are central to our lives and faith as Christians and therefore central to our worship gatherings. You can find the basic beliefs of our church leadership here. If you have other questions, please let us know! We want to help and answer any questions or concerns you may have. While those basic beliefs will give a good overview, we believe the best way to get a feel for what our church believes and how that plays out practically is to visit us on a Sunday morning or contact our minister at warren@northbayfamily.org to set up a time to visit.
